MEMORIES

In memory of PRINCESSA II – aka Whitey (1996-2021)

Lusitano born – 1996, 15hh. Sire – Gaviao II (i)

Horseanality – RBI. Level 4 +

Whitey is David’s horse and he has owned her since 2004.

Demonstrations – Whitey has demonstrated at numerous events across Europe including - EQITANA Germany, once with Pat Parelli. She has appeared in the South West Iberian Show Gala three times.

Other info – When David bought her he found her to be very cute but difficult mare who was nearly not ride able. She is still not everybody’s horse but is much calmer and more self confident. She plays in all 4 savvies and is a good help if David needs to play horseback with another horse.

Whitey had huge trust in David and has been ridden bareback and bridleless in many environments. She was good at pulling, has been in a carriage and regularly harrowed the arena.

Over the years this mare helped David with many youngsters or horses here for foundation training who need help with ride and lead for example. She led a quieter life in her later years and had a retirement from major performances at the South West Iberian Show in 2018.

In loving of Memory of Dougal dog 2011-2017

Dougal was Alisons constant companion for 16years, travelling the length and breadth of the country whilst she went on teaching tours. He retired as pest control when Dylan the cat arrived but he still patrolled the yard to oversee operations. Those who met Dougal never forgot him or his strong personality.

New dog Spice is a totally different character to Dougal who we all miss a lot, but she does her best to fill the hole he left, despite being smaller than he ever was.

Competition - Ali and Orange had a go at everything, he show jumped in British Novice and 1m amateur, Evented intro and pre novice, dressage to medium level. He qualified and competed at the regional championships at Kingston Maurwood College at Elementary. They also had a go at Trec.

Demonstrations - Orange was Ali's first demo horse, starting with Parelli tours in the UK went onto to huge events like the FEI European championships, Burghley horse trials (main arena), Gatcombe (main arena), Windsor Show, British Open (show jumping championships at NEC), numerous Pat and Linda demos at the NEC and Solihull riding club (one of which Linda rode him), CLA game fair, Royal welsh, the Royal show, to name but a few. At the Royal Festival of the Horse I was lucky enough to receive a public lead change lesson from Pat Parelli himself. His last ever demonstration was at Horse World Live at the Excell arena in London which Linda Parelli was leading.

Special Characteristics - His liberty and leg connection were fantastic.

Note from Ali - Orange was the most wonderful partner in my foundation journey. I bought him to sell on as he has good ears - ears that go straight forwards when he is scared! What I had not really understood when I went to see him and bought him was that he was a runaway, on the ground mainly, but what they do on the ground they do ridden, maybe I should have guessed as he took off with two of us when we were riding him to try him!!

He never was sold!!
